Accessibility Statement

Version 2026-09-03.1 · Effective date: September 3, 2026 · Operator: Third Coast Films, LLC dba MindRiot Labs

Our Commitment

IllumiU is dedicated to making college admissions tools accessible to every student, including applicants with visual, auditory, cognitive, or motor disabilities. We actively engineer our platform toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

1. Accessibility Standards & Targets

We believe digital equity in admissions planning is essential. Our design system and engineering workflows incorporate the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

While we continuously test and improve our application, web accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly assess new components and updates to eliminate barriers to access.

2. Technical & Engineering Practices

Our application implements concrete accessibility engineering practices across our codebase:

Keyboard & Focus Navigation

All interactive controls, modals, tabs, and drawer panels support standard keyboard navigation (Tab, Enter, Space, Escape) with visible focus rings and proper focus trap management.

Semantic HTML & ARIA

We use semantic HTML5 elements (`header`, `main`, `nav`, `section`) and accessible ARIA attributes to ensure screen readers accurately interpret page hierarchies, form states, and status alerts.

High-Contrast OKLCH Tokens

Our color palette utilizes mathematically balanced OKLCH tokens engineered to meet WCAG AA contrast ratio standards in both light and dark display modes.

Automated Quality Gates

Our continuous integration pipeline runs automated linting and component test suites to catch accessibility regressions before code is promoted.
