1. How We Use Browser Storage
Modern web applications store small pieces of state in your web browser via HTTP cookies, Local Storage, and Session Storage. IllumiU utilizes these technologies exclusively to:
- Maintain Secure Authentication: Preserving your cryptographically signed login session across page refreshes.
- Remember Interface Preferences: Remembering whether your navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed.
- Enable Offline Resilience & Sandboxes: Supporting interactive demo exploration and guest scratchpads before signing up.
- Client Diagnostics: Measuring client planning calculation latency to detect performance regressions.
2. Storage Inventory
Below is the current inventory of cookies and local storage keys utilized by IllumiU:
sidebar_statePersists user preference for collapsible navigation sidebar (expanded vs collapsed).
sb-auth-tokenStores cryptographically signed Supabase authentication tokens to maintain user session.
illumiu:demo:v1Stores interactive demo sandbox application state for prospective users.
illumiu:guest:v1Stores unauthenticated guest scratchpad application state before account sign up.
illumiu:telemetry:v1Stores client planning engine performance, latency metrics, and execution diagnostics.
illumiu:feedback_events:v1Stores client task recommendation feedback (thumbs up/down) for local heuristic ranking adaptation.
3. Managing Your Browser Storage
You can manage or clear your browser storage at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → Clear browsing data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
Note: Clearing local storage or deleting the authentication token will log you out of your account, but will not erase your cloud application data.
